Privacy notice
Last updated: 14 August 2026
This notice explains how your personal information is collected and used when you take part in the public consultation on proposals for 80 homes at Land North of Haine Road, Broadstairs. Please read it before submitting the feedback form.

The data controller for this consultation is Vistry Group PLC, a public limited company incorporated in England and Wales (company number 00306718), whose registered office is at 11 Tower View, Kings Hill, West Malling, Kent, ME19 4UY. Vistry is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under registration number Z1122226.

What we collect
Through the feedback form we may collect:
- Your answers to the survey questions, including any comments you write.
- Your postcode, if you choose to provide it.
- Your name and email address, if you choose to provide them (for example, to receive updates).
You do not have to provide your name, email or postcode to take part. Those fields are optional.
Why we use it and our lawful basis
| What we do | Lawful basis (UK GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Review your feedback and use it to inform the proposals and the planning application. | Our legitimate interests in carrying out meaningful community consultation on a development proposal. |
| Send you updates about the development, where you have asked for them. | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. |
| Include a summary of feedback in the documents submitted with our planning application. | Our legitimate interests and compliance with the planning process. |
Your feedback becomes part of a public planning submission. A summary of the responses we receive (including comments) may be included in a Statement of Community Involvement or similar document submitted to Thanet District Council. These documents are published and become part of the public planning record. We will not publish your name, email address or postcode as part of that summary, and we will report comments in a way that does not identify you.
Who we share it with
We may share your information with:
- Consultants and advisers working with us on this project (for example our planning and consultation team), who process it on our behalf under appropriate agreements.
- Thanet District Council and other public authorities, as part of the planning process, as an anonymised summary of feedback, as described above.
- Google, if (and only if) you accept analytics cookies, through Google Analytics — see Cookies below.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising or set any advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep consultation responses for as long as we need them for the planning application and any subsequent stages of the development, after which they are securely deleted. If you asked to receive updates, we keep your contact details for up to 15 months after the last time you contacted us or responded to contact from us, or until you tell us you no longer wish to hear from us, whichever is sooner.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us to give you access to the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to restrict or object to how we use it, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise any of these rights, contact Vistry's Data Protection Team at data.protection@vistrygroup.co.uk.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF, or at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to address your concerns first, so please consider contacting us before you approach the ICO.
Cookies
This site sets no advertising cookies, and no analytics cookies are set unless you choose to accept them.
When you first visit, we ask whether you're happy for us to use Google Analytics. If you select "Accept", Google Analytics sets cookies that help us understand how people use the site — for example which pages are viewed and how visitors move through the consultation — so we can improve it. We have set Google Analytics to anonymise your IP address and not to share your data for advertising or ad personalisation. If you select "Decline", no analytics cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. Google Analytics is provided by Google; see Google's privacy policy for how it handles data.
The location map loads map images (tiles) from OpenStreetMap so it can display and be moved around; this is used only to show the map and involves no advertising or tracking. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts to display the site correctly; if you have blocked external fonts, the site falls back to standard system fonts and works exactly the same.
